Users

The Users page is where you invite people to your organization and manage who has access. You’ll find it under Team Management → Users in the console. What each row shows depends on your plan: on Starter and Business plans it’s the users’s role; on the Enterprise plan it’s the groups they belong to.

Invite a user

1

Open the invite dialog

On the Users page, select Invite.

2

Enter their email

Enter the person’s email address and select Invite. If they don’t have a Markup AI account yet, they’ll receive an email to join; if they already have one, they’re added to your organization straight away.

3

Set their access

New users join as Writers. Once they’ve joined, adjust their access from their row in the Users list — see below.

Manage a member inline

You manage a person directly from their row in the Users list — there’s no separate edit screen.

Change a role

Select the role chip (or the chevron beside it) to open the role menu, then choose Administrator or Writer. Each option explains what it grants. The change takes effect immediately. See Roles & Permissions for the full breakdown.

Manage a user’s groups

Available on the Enterprise plan. On Enterprise, the Users list shows a Groups column in place of the role menu — a person’s access follows entirely from their groups.

In the Groups column, open the group picker to set the person’s groups — select as many as apply and confirm once. A user’s permissions and, if your org has the Style Agent, their style-guide access follow from the groups they’re in. Changes take effect on their next sign-in.

Remove a member

Use the delete icon in the Actions column to remove someone’s access to the organization. You can’t remove yourself.

Use Filter by status to switch between Active members and those still Invited.

Provisioned users

Users added from your identity provider (IdP) via SCIM show a Provisioned badge, and IdP-managed details show Managed via SCIM. These users are managed by your IdP: their details and group memberships update automatically as an identity provider pushes changes, so make any updates there rather than in the console. You can still add a provisioned user to groups created directly in Markup AI.
