Manage Your Subscription

Everything billing-related lives in one place: the Billing page in the console shows your current plan and renewal date, and its Manage billing button opens your billing portal — a secure page hosted by Stripe, our payment processor — where you update payment details, change plans, download invoices, and cancel.

On the Enterprise plan, billing is managed by Markup AI rather than the billing portal — contact our team to discuss plan changes, invoicing, or contract questions.

Subscribe to a plan

1

Open Billing in the console

Go to the Billing page and compare the plans. Choose monthly or annual billing — the displayed price updates accordingly — and select Subscribe on the plan you want. (Enterprise isn’t sold online — contact our team instead.)

2

Complete checkout

Checkout happens on a secure Stripe page. Enter your payment card and billing address — taxes, where applicable, are calculated from that address and shown before you confirm. You can also apply a promotion code, and add a separate billing email if invoices should go somewhere other than your account email.

3

You're subscribed

Your subscription starts as soon as payment goes through, and the Billing page shows your plan and next renewal date. Plans renew automatically — monthly plans every month, annual plans every year — until you cancel. We email a reminder before each annual renewal.

Update payment details and invoices

Manage billing on the Billing page opens your billing portal. From there you can:

  • add or replace payment methods,
  • update billing details — name, billing email, address, and tax ID,
  • view and download your invoice history.

Change plans

You can switch plans or billing intervals anytime from the billing portal. When the change takes effect depends on the direction:

  • Moving up — to a higher-priced plan, or from monthly to annual billing — takes effect immediately. You’re charged a prorated amount for the time remaining in your current billing period, so you only pay the difference.
  • Annual to monthly on the same plan takes effect at the end of your current annual period — you keep everything you’ve already paid for, and nothing extra is charged in the meantime. The scheduled switch appears on your billing page, and you can cancel it anytime before it happens.
  • Business to Starter takes effect immediately. The unused portion of what you’ve already paid is applied as a credit toward your future Markup AI invoices — it isn’t refunded as cash, and upcoming invoices draw it down automatically.

Cancel your subscription

Cancel anytime from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access until then, you won’t be charged again, and amounts already paid aren’t refunded. After you cancel, the Billing page shows the date your plan expires instead of a renewal date.

Your configurations are saved after your subscription ends — resubscribe anytime and everything picks up where you left off.

If there’s a payment problem

  • A renewal charge fails. We’ll email you and retry over the following days, and you keep access while we retry. If payment still can’t be collected, your subscription may be suspended and then canceled. Updating your payment method in the billing portal is usually all it takes.
  • Your invoices can’t be finalized. Usually a missing or invalid billing address — Stripe uses it to calculate tax on each invoice. Update your billing details in the portal and your plan is restored automatically.
